Beat the clock

Just a quickie... kind of an appendix to a longer post I'll be publishing later today.

One of the things that constantly amazes me about EVE is the fact that you can play this game for many years, as I have, and still never know more than a fraction of the mechanics, user interfaces, or structures that populate the game. I occasionally joke with my alliance mates that I keep a stopwatch that I reset every time I learn something new about EVE, and rarely does this stopwatch go more than a few days without needing to be reset.

I won't tell you what the most recent thing I learned that "reset the clock" was, mostly because I want to avoid people cackling and saying "You didn't know that?" at me. But I'm sure all of them have their own clocks too, and are constantly having to learn new things about the game to prevent them from being embarrassed about things they don't know too. ;-)

And often, these things we do not know about the game are things that can endanger our ships, our revenue, our corp, or our alliance. And it only happens because someone else knows something about the game that we do not know. As it stands now, that's just the way the game is. I'll have more to say about that in the longer post.

In the meantime, anyone want to share any particular thing you learned about the game that "reset the clock" for you?
