Star Citizen Will Be The Panacea For The Entire Sci-Fi Genre Of Gaming

Chris Roberts is the saviour of sci-fi gaming. There is no doubt about that. I am done railing against Star Citizen. It will be the sci-fi game to end all sci-fi games. Star Trek Online will crumble under Chris' realization of deep, immersive solo gameplay. Mechwarrior Online will fall before Citizen's own version of planetary combat in robot-like-things. EVE Online will tremble when compared against Roberts' version of giant real-time space combats in a massive single-shard universe. Starcraft 2 will ... wait ... do people still play Starcraft outside of Korea? Star Citizen will be everything to everyone. It is dream into reality. Star Citizen, where you can strip the virtual off virtual reality. Star Citizen will redefine the sandbox.

That's a whole load of crap. But it's what I'll be espousing from now on. Especially to actual Star Citizen fans. If they make an unsubstantiated feature claim, I'm going to agree with them and then take it a step further. These people have spent thousands of dollars on a game they know next to nothing about. I'm going to help validate every wild fantasy that they have. The Star Citizen forums are a breeding ground for features most fans are convinced will be released, yet have never been announced.

Why be mean? For the release day spectacle. When Star Citizen releases and it doesn't amount to 10% of the expectations of these people, most of whom have shelled out for $225 spaceships and much more, there is going to be juicy rage across the internet. Maybe even class action lawsuits. The months following Star Citizen's release are going to be so much fun to read about.

This is going to be the game that finally brings us space poop, after all. I'm flush with excitement.
