The War in Fountain - If They Could Have Held It Together

Finally, Goonswarm shows up on the influence map as a sovereignty holder in Fountain. It looks a bit like a small tear. The sniffles of Test Alliance.

In my last post I said straight up that the war in Fountain was effectively over. There were still a few naysayers. Are they still naysaying?

Since that last post, seven days ago, the CFC held around 12 systems, now the CFC holds nearly 40 systems. Without the assistance of Pandemic Legion and N3, Test Alliance has folded up shop. About the only active timezone for Test, the folks still trying, are those stubborn people in AUTZ. And good on them for keeping up the fight.

Things were potentially looking up for Test Alliance. For the first time since I've been playing EVE Online, Solar Fleet is no longer on the influence map. The war in the east has been won by N3 and Pandemic Legion. And with Solar Fleet out of the way, there were indications the Pals, of Test & Pals, might return to Fountain. Whether the reformation of Test & Pals could stop the CFC, a good question, but they could have certainly slowed us down again.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck Test Alliance.

Here's an important lesson. If you have a director who has access to all your hangars, especially the hangars with most of your really expensive sovereignty stuff, perhaps don't antagonize him. Perhaps don't repeatedly suggest that he "stop being poor." Because he might very well decide to do just that by stripping those hangars of all that easy wealth.

That's what did happen. A director was told to "stop being poor", and well, now he's no longer poor.  But Test is considerably poorer. 130 billion ISK poorer. And they were already destitute at the time of the theft.

"Hey, Test Alliance. Stop being poor."

So, what is going to happen now? Unless Pandemic Legion and N3 return for fights (I don't think they are at all interested in saving Fountain for an alliance that can't keep its shit together), the CFC will continue to roflstomp its way through the region. Does the CFC stop in Fountain? Do they continue on through Delve? Confederation of Pizza will probably put up some fights, they'd probably also get the assistance of the remnants of Test, plus N3 and PL. The CFC might not be able to push through that, but I wouldn't be surprised if we stuck a toe in that water, see how we fared.

Of course, before any decisions on Delve are made, there will be some location realignments for the CFC. Perhaps Fidelas Constans ends up in Fountain. Perhaps Gentleman's Agreement. (Though, personally, I like it in Vale of the Silent, but I'll move wherever we are assigned.) With Solar Fleet gone, Legion of Death may be moving east. At any rate, with the playing field having changed, there'll be some reexaminations before any moves are made on Delve. That's all for CFC leadership and the financial teams to figure out.
