The War in Fountain - Cracking Down on Pornfleets

If you've ever been a member of a large alliance, been on large fleets, you're likely well familiar with porn fleets. During those down moments, orbiting anchors or gates, long warps, just getting to your destination, all of the general lull before the storm, people will link to amuse their fleet mates. More often than not the links are to porn.

Of course, linking porn in local chat has always been a pretty dumb thing to do. Linking to porn anywhere in EVE is a EULA offense, but linking in fleet chat has generally been safe. Your corp and alliance mates aren't going to report you. You're supplying a service in the fight against boredom.

The newest weapon in the war seems to be getting your enemy banned. Get a spy in fleet, and start reporting every person that links anything to nudity. Thin out the enemy ranks by getting linkers three or more day bans.
Please do not petition blues for linking porn or other EULA violations. That is considered goonfucking and will get you blacklisted from the CFC. Also please do not link porn or commit EULA violations because spies and/or butthurt people will petition you and you will get banned.
I've never heard of groups having to warn people about not posting links other than in local chat. It's never something we had to worry about in Fweddit, for instance. Even though we always had Minmatar spies in the organization, it always seemed like an unwritten rule that you didn't mess with what people might say or link in their semi-private channels, such as fleet.

Now, it is apparently a problem. It's the new weapon in war. Reporting for bans.

You can't blame CCP for the bans. The EULA is crystal clear. And it would be hard for them to start making exceptions for pseudo-private channels such as fleet, corporation or alliance chat. CCP doesn't go looking for this stuff, so those private channels have always been reasonably safe havens for completely free chatter and linking. But if CCP do get a specific report, they are under an obligation to act.

I'll always be safe, because I only link girl feet. Reddit's /r/feet is a wonderful place to spend some time during a long engagement in EVE. Mainly because cute girl feet are awesome, and also because nerds can get really upset if they open a link and find only a cute pair of feet. It's a bit like trolling, and it's amusing to see the responses from people that don't yet understand that girls are great, from their heads down to their toes.

For all you linkers, people helping to keep boredom out of their fleets, beware linking nudity. You may have a spy in your ranks, more than willing to help thin your ranks for a few days.
