War Is Coming!

It seems inevitable that Odyssey will bring war. Alliance income is about to be drastically cut with the introduction of 227 new R64 moons to New Eden (or maybe it's the introduction of R64 to 227 existing moons; same difference.) Then there's new alchemy. And then the rebalancing of the production chains so that one particular R64 element is no longer dominant.

(Hey people. Stop calling this is a moon redistribution. I'm looking at you Crossing Zebras. Current moons remain as is. There is no redistribution of moons, simply the addition "new" R64 moons.)

So with the (expected) drastic cut in income, alliances will be looking to take income away from other alliances, to make up the shortfall, to try to control more of the supply. Jabber pings have been telling us so.

Gentlemen and Ladies. In the next week or so, the universe of EVE will change in a way that will affect why we fight and what we shoot: Moon Rebalancing.

If its not obvious by now, we will most likely be starting a major offensive and/or defensive war shortly afterwards to claim these moons to fund our various alliances. OTEC may well die and things may get ugly, but make no mistake, we will be fighting 'Someone'.

So now during the lull of relative peace, go forth and rat/mine/setup PI to earn the iskies to sustain you, whilse also stocking up on fleet ships.

After patch day, enjoy the various evenews sites and tinfoil as various chess pieces move into play for our next big war.

What would be my dream war? The CFC versus Pandemic Legion. Just go after every single one of their moon mining operations and take it away from them. Cripple them income-wise.

Will that happen? Probably not. A lot of old Goonswarm are now members of Pandemic Legion. The Legion is the Bohemian Club of New Eden. A lot of rich, fat one-percenters in their own special club; people pretending (and not so pretending) at being the movers and shakers, the transformers of everything nullsec in New Eden.

Richard Nixon has a famous bit of dialogue about the Bohemian Grove from the Watergate tapes. If he had played EVE Online and been in the CFC, I suspect he might have said something similar about Pandemic Legion:

The Pandemic Legion, that I ally with from time to time ? a lot of nullsec old money come there ? but it is the most faggy goddamn thing you could ever imagine, that Pandemic Legion crowd; it's just terrible! I mean I won't shake hands with anybody from Pandemic Legion.

That's my pipedream, anyhow. CFC versus Pandemic Legion.

What'll be the reality? My guess is Querious. With Raiden evaccing the region, and since it's likely to get 10 or so new R64 moons, it'll be a worthwhile region for invasion. That'll be my guess for deployment. 1DH-SX to begin with, in Delve. Move outwards from there into Querious. It's a good first area to get people geared up for war.

As the coalitions start to discover the locations of the other 200+ new R64 moons, that will start to define new regions of conflict.
