They Really Do Need A Diversion

The CFC really does need a war. If only so that they stop looking for slights here.

The other day I was writing some observations on the registration process into Gentleman's Agreement and my initial trip of to TVN-FM.

The result? People thinking I was bad-mouthing Goon Services. People thinking I was bad-mouthing folks who sell other folks ships in the region.

First of all, I was not disparaging any Goon Services. I have yet to sign up for them. I was too tired today. All I was doing was commenting on my dislike for registrations. First for Paxton. Then for Gentleman's Agreement. Soon for Goon Services. I realize it's necessary, but it's still a pain in the ass. It no doubt takes a bunch of complex code to make all this stuff interoperate. I wouldn't disparage anybody's efforts in that regard. I just hate registering for twenty-different things. I'll be glad when it's all over and done with, and I can just get down to enjoying all the cool shit that the CFC, the Goons and Gentleman's Agreement have made available to the faithful. (I've heard a lot of good things about Goon tools, they are an industrious lot, after all.)

Concerning my comment about not finding any corporate contracts. Again, just a quick observation and it obviously betrays my lowsec roots. I knew it would generate some answers. And it did.

Up in null, a lot of this type of ship selling among alliance and coalition mates is done via public contracts. That would make zero sense down in lowsec, but it makes sense up in nullsec, especially considering stations are alliance controlled. You can safely put stuff up on public contract, and know that only coalition mates are going to buy the stuff, since those coalition mates are the only people who can dock up at the station offering the contracts.

Obviously, a lot of folks in the CFC are looking for a fight, and hopefully they get one soon. Because coming to my blog, looking for one, well that's amusing.

The word on the street is that the resource reallocation coming with Odyssey is going to shake a tonne of stuff up. I've been told to get ready for war. Maybe it will happen. That would be a cool thing to be involved with. I don't shoot structures all that often, so even that might be fun. I'd also like to experience some serious time dilation.

Still no CSM8 ballots. You know, I had no tinfoil hat thoughts when the CSM8 results were released at Fanfest. But now that the ballots have been delayed over a week, with not a single word from a CCP employee about them, well, certain thoughts are now percolating.

I am in the process of conducting two interviews with CCP employees. One is underway. One has not quite yet started. And I'm angling for a third. I'm going to concentrate on CCP employees we know about, but don't know all that much about. I see no point interviewing the Unifexes and the Soundwaves and the Fozzies. They've been interviewed to death. And we know pretty much all there is to know about them. But there are lots of employees doing good things, who maybe deserve some of the limelight. I want to bring them some attention.

I think it will be cool doing a series of non-obvious interviews. You already got a taste with my CCP Explorer interview. I was happy to learn that it was well-received.

And the reskinned ship hangars? Was the release, at this time, intentional? And, yes, I know they are in the patch notes, but at Fanfest I got the impression the V3 hangars were meant for Odyssey. Perhaps something gifted to the EVE players for the 10th anniversary and for the lengthy deployment?
