The War in Fountain - Why Does Test Want Delve?

So, Test is falling back into Delve. NOL-M9. I'm curious why.

By all accounts, every moon of value in Delve was taken by Confederation of Pizza during the Fountain war. Test might still own Delve sovereignty, but they own nothing of value on the property. Thus, Delve is simply an ongoing, and quite useless, expense for them.

Unless Test can recapture lost moons, there seems little benefit or reason to try to hold Delve. Retaking moons doesn't seem very likely. They already lost one major battle to Pizza since retreating to Delve. I'm not sure if Test is capable of doing anything on its own, any longer. N3 and Pandemic Legion have given up hope on them. Delve will be on Test's shoulders alone.

Simply the pride of having some blue on the influence map doesn't seem to be reason enough. I would think Test would be better off just regrouping and re-evaluating in space where it doesn't have to worry about sovereignty. Stain. NPC Delve. Maybe even Aridia. Don't pay the bills for Delve, let the sovereignty drop. If you can't pull any income out of the region, then it's useless real estate to be paying for.

It's also curious why they've moved back to NOL-M9. It's a sov system. They didn't fight for Fountain from within Fountain, because they were worried about being hellcamped, yet they plan to fight for Delve from within Delve. A decision that doesn't make much sense given their previous decision-making.

Test, if they want to continue being relevant, need to go off and figure some things out. Harness the resources they do have. Figure out how to be a sov-holding alliance. They need to figure out how to do stuff for themselves. They've never done a single thing on their own. Fountain was given to them by Goonswarm. Their war to take Delve, Querious and Period Basis was due to Pandemic Legion and CFC assistance. Their defense of Fountain was most successful when they had N3 and PL backing them. Test has never stood on their own. They've always needed other, more capable, groups to prop them up.

Folks have been giving them a lot of fish, but nobody has seen fit to teach them how to fish. They're going to have to learn. It's the most important thing they can do for themselves now. Either that, or failcascade.
