That EVE Documentary - Still Plugging Along

So that EVE Online documentary, A Tale of Internet Spaceships, that was partially funded via Indiegogo, it is still plugging along. I wrote about it on two other occasions. The first to say "Hey, your intro video is kinda horrible." And the second, once they fixed their intro video, to drum up some support for the project.

Although they didn't achieve their full funding (only a little over half of what they wanted and/or needed was donated), they still went ahead with the project. Travelling to Iceland for Fanfest 2013 and putting in many long days interviewing fans, CCP employees, and other noted important internet spaceship people.

They had hoped to have the documentary ready this fall, but the workload has proved to be more than they anticipated. Transcription being the biggest hurdle, as they mention in their latest update to their progress.

The current plan is to have it all ready early 2014, definitely before Fanfest 2014. (Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they premiered it at Fanfest next year. That might be a really awesome way to showcase and release the documentary. Sell a bunch of DVDs that way too.)

I gotta say. I'm very much looking forward to this documentary. The interview work looks very well done. I especially like that they continually moved around Harpa to conduct their interviews and didn't stick to a single location. I'm glad I donated some money to the cause. I look forward to more frequent updates too, as the documentary work continues.
