I've been tracking the price of ores virtually since I started playing EVE, and I've never stopped. I can't help it, really. It's just a good baseline for prices throughout New Eden. It's not for nothing that ore and mineral prices were always the very first thing reported on in the old Quarterly Economic Newsletters.
These days, I mostly track mineral prices so that I can keep up on the costs they inflict on my T1 and T2 manufacturing. It's a raw material that I have to keep track of like any other. Still, mineral prices have stabilized nicely since the massive speculation of a year or so ago. As a result, I mostly just update my numbers every month or so on the first of the month. That's today. Since I was once a miner, my requisite EVE spreadsheet still takes those mineral values and dumps them over to value of ores mined. And today, the numbers show something rather startling.
From Arkonor to Veldspar, virtually every ore worth mining is now worth about the same amount of ISK per hour.
As a matter of fact, Veldspar is worth more than every null-sec mineral except Arkonor and Mercoxit. Massive Scordite, which is nearly as common as dirt and comes in enormous boulders, is worth more than Arkonor which is rare and comes in pebbles. Gneiss and Spud are still garbage. Omber is still borderline. But everything else from Veld to Ark is worth between 19 mil and 26 mil an hour. Everything else.
This really is unprecedented. I can't think of another time the values of all the minerals have been close like this.
