Fit of the Week: Shield Enyo
How is it that I haven't done an Enyo FOTW since 2011? Let's fix that right now.

Remember how a year ago I said that shield Enyo fleets were a really fun small- to medium-size gang meta as long as you brought along a few ships with points along? This is the shield Enyo that goes with that story. Tank is provided by a single meta MSE, damage control, and a T2 anti-EM rig. Don't skimp on the rig! You're quite vulnerable to laser fire even with it, but against most things you'll have a 10k EHP tank. That, amusingly, is superior to all but the most dedicated armor-tanking Enyos and the trade-off is about 25% more speed, at 2600m/s before heat.
But the really entertaining thing about this boat is the 325 or so DPS. Off a frigate.
That makes a little swarm of these look quite engageable to the uninitiated. It requires really aggressive piloting from your Enyos, though. The vast bulk of your DPS is coming off short-range blasters with a 1.4k+2.5k range with faction antimatter. So it's really important that everyone understands they have to get in close! It's just as important to spread tackle. Your point-fitted ships (of which you should have a few, perhaps 20% of the total fleet size) can provide the initial points, but it will be up to the Enyos to hard tackle targets as they come into their engagement ranges.
High speed and a tight orbit of around 700m gives you a slingshot GTFO option if you need to do it... so long as you don't get webbed. Your signature radius is surprisingly small and can be emphasized a bit with an X-Instinct booster. The single drone only provides about 20 DPS. If you have to run, leave it behind and loot a new one from the next battlefield you come across.
Other than that, flying this ship is perfectly straight-forward: wait for your long-point ships to call point, pick the most expensive thing you can, orbit it close, kill, repeat. If you're fighting other blaster ships or missile ships, reps will do a pretty good job keeping you alive if you want to bring along a Burst or two, or perhaps a fast-aligning Scythe. Against lasers and clouds of Warriors, you're a bit thinner but still reasonably tough.
Finally, I've recently developed a thing where I fit meta4 Nanofiber Internal Structure mods to Gallente ships. Compared to T2, the meta4 mod doesn't reduce structure HP as much, and Gallente ships have surprisingly strong hulls. You sacrifice a little bit of speed in the trade but Gallente ships don't have much of a problem there. On this ship, for instance, you only lose about 10m/s on MWD using the meta4 mod... and you gain 200 EHP, which isn't nothing for a frigate. It also cuts a bit off the ship's price.
Get in there and brawl!
All Fits of the Week are intended as general guidelines only. You may not have the skills needed for this exact fit. If you do not, feel free to adjust the fit to suit to meet your skills, including using meta 3 guns and "best named" defenses and e-war. Ships can also be adjusted to use faction or dead-space modules depending on the budget of the pilot flying it. Each FOTW is intended as a general guide to introduce you to concepts that will help you fit and to fly that particular type of ship more aggressively and well.
