[Jester's Trek] CSM8 Status Report: Week twenty-six
CSM8 Status Report: Week twenty-six
Half of CSM8's term is now over! And I'll have more to say about that later today or tomorrow. But let's get to the weekly update.
First up, the minutes status. Of 25 total sessions:
- I've written six sessions (Introduction, Sales and Marketing, Team Kuromaku, Team Game of Drones, NDA Project Three, Hilmar);
- Trebor Daehdoow has written five sessions (PvE, CSM as Stakeholder, Security, Future Plans, Team True Grit);
- Ali Aras has written five session (EVE Economy, In-Class Homework Assignment, User Interface, NDA Project Two, EVE Valkyrie);
- mynnna has written three sessions (Reasonable Things, Team Superfriends, Team Five-0);
- Mike Azariah has written two sessions (Art, DUST 514 Link);
- Mangala Solaris has written one session (Language Support and the CSM);
- James Arget has written one session (Launcher); and,
- Chitsa Jason has written one session (State of Balance).
Remember how I said Rubicon still had some surprises in store? Both of the surprises I was thinking of are now public, this one most of all. A lot of the CSM have been pushing for that update since our very first days in office, and then pestering Team Five-0 as it was put into their development plan for Rubicon, and again as it made its way through CCP's development methodology. Hell, we knew exactly which week it was going to be worked on and who was going to be working on it. ;-) Ali Aras has done a lovely job of telling the story in some detail. It's a really good story of how the CSM process is supposed to work. Go out and give it a read!
The other feature we were hoping would go public this week did so as well (woot again!), and there's lots and lots of information about the new ghost sites and the implants that you can manufacture from doing them in this week's dev-blog. And that's all the features in Rubicon that I'm aware of. Two weeks and one day until the release of EVE's winter expansion!
No official meetings this past week, and not much going on in the Skype channel or on the private section of the forums. As I mentioned last week, the feature teams are very much heads down finishing up their work for the Rubicon release date. We had a few quick questions about our opinions on things, but nothing particularly major. As player feedback mounts from messing around with Rubicon's features on the test server, we're occasionally being asked about small tweaks to various features. But that's been kind of the limit of the CSM's input this week.
The SOMERblink thing continues to bubble and seethe in the background but I've already said all that I intend to about that one.
Next up, the date and time of the next CSM Town Hall has been set:
16 November 2013, 1900 EVE timeThis one is happening a bit later than I planned, but I don't think we could have forseen all of the issues that have swirled up out of this whole SOMERblink mess over the last couple of months. Anyway, if you have questions about how the CSM or CCP responded to that, this town hall will be the place to bring up those questions. We'll also be talking Rubicon, the Summer Summit minutes (assuming those are released between now and then), and any other topic that the players would like to bring up. Hope to see you there! Instructions for how to participate are on that EVE forum thread.
And that's all I can think of for this week. Pretty quiet week overall. We're now awaiting the release of Rubicon... See you at the town hall!
