CSM8 Status Report: Week forty-eight

11 months in the term are in the history books now, one month to go!

Obviously, the big news this past week was the publication of about 2/3 of the Winter Summit Minutes. CCP still needs to announce the overall theme of the upcoming expansion and once that's done, we'll be pushing for the remainder of the Minutes to be published. Even as it was, a number of little Easter eggs were revealed in the Minutes published to date. I'll leave things at that for now, except to encourage you to read them... Obviously, expect more from me once CCP actually starts releasing details of what we can expect for the summer!

CCP Fozzie couldn't resist trolling Malcanis in the EVE-O forum thread about the Minutes, though:
Most of you probably should have learned this by now, but you're pretty much always best to ignore anything Malcanis posts (on any forum).
Or, you know... maybe he was serious. It's so hard to tell with him sometimes. ;-)

The CSM9 elections are starting up as you read this and as you know, I've released my endorsements. And speaking of Malcanis, I'm not the only outgoing CSM8 member to have done so. Here's his endorsement list which is going to look fairly familiar...
Vote for diversity of expertise : Ali Aras  Mangala Solaris  Mike Azariah  Steve Ronuken  James Arget  Xander Phoena  Sugar Kyle  corbexx  mynnna  progodlegend  Psychotic Monk  Jayne Fillion
Gotta say I was kind of entertained by Malcanis's list being so similar to mine... Trebor Daehdoow has also published an endorsement list that has a few different names, as has Mike Azariah. And a number of bloggers have also released endorsements. Here's Rixx Javix's list, Kirith Kodachi's, and The Nosy Gamer's.

So, absolutely no lack of opinions out there! Whomever you decide to vote for, please vote!

The private section of the forums has dialed back a bit, as has the Skype channel. Between heads-down working on summer features and getting ready for Fanfest, there just isn't a lot of time for much else right now. This has suited the CSM members who are running for reelection who are obviously pretty focused on that. Cap Stable and Legacy of a Capsuleer are running out of people to interview. ;-)

There will be one more CSM Town Hall before CSM9 takes office. I'm going to start working with Neville Smit and DJ Wiggles very shortly. Target date will be the weekend before Fanfest but I'll put out an official announcement as soon as the date is chosen and all the ducks are lined up.

And that's it for this week!
