The Merc Report - Noir Mercenary Group vs. Necromesis
Noir Mercenary Group. One of the better known, perhaps even celebrated, mercenary groups in EVE Online. An alliance of 130 PvP hungry pilots, they're a popular highsec hire as mitigation against war declarations.
According to Alekseyev Karrde, the face of Noir, they have just completed a record breaking merc contract in nullsec, Delve to be exact ? 462 kills, 89.3B ISK in damage in three weeks. How much did it cost to hire Noir for that Delve campaign? Five billion ISK. But was that money well-spent?
Compare Noir's Delve contract stats to those of Necromesis. Necromesis is neither a merc alliance or a merc corporation. He's simply a single pilot. A member of Monkeys with Guns. His stats for June 2013? 730 kills, 71.62B ISK damage. That is a single pilot. That is more kills and slightly less damage in four weeks than the 130 pilot Noir alliance did in three weeks.
How much would it cost to hire Necromesis? Apparently he works for salvage rights.
So, for 5B ISK you can hire a 130 person alliance who can barely outgun a single pilot from Monkey with Guns. Or keep that 5B ISK and contact Necromesis. A one-man wrecking machine, or a 130 member wet rag? Maybe Noir has to be re-evaluated as a cost effective mercenary group.
Enjoy some stats. First from Noir and their Delve campaign, and lastly Necromesis during June and July 2013.
More seriously, though. 430 kills for a 130 man alliance over a three week period. Not particularly impactful where nullsec is concerned. Not many nullsec alliances are going to notice, especially groups the size of Test/Tribal Band (who this contract was aimed at.)
