Goon Services
I've had access to a variety of Goon Services for about a week. I'd heard about the quality of their tools via folks in Fweddit, since we do have quite a few ex-Goon and Goon alts in the organization. (Fweddit's CEO is Thunderwaffe, for instance.)
So while not a surprise to actually see the usefulness of the tools, it was a surprise to see how polished these services are. Any EVE player would be thrilled to have some of these tools at their disposal. Any nullsec player, more so.
GARPA Topographical Survey
My favourite tool is definitely GARPA. I'm not really sure what GARPA means, but the tool itself is a travel planner. It shows all jump bridges, will plan routes using jump bridges, etc. For someone who is quite lost at the moment in nullsec, who wants to know the quickest routes from A to B, this tool is invaluable. It's going to take me awhile to be able to travel Vale/Tribute/Deklein without a map reference, so GARPA is going to be my righthand man for good long while. I'm not sure I'd want to undock at all if it weren't for GARPA.
The image above is GARPA. I'm showing the Providence region, mainly because I don't want to upset anybody by showing Vale of the Silent. I'm sure the CFC jump bridge network is no secret, but it's not really necessary to show our network to show the application. I don't want to get anybody's hackles up without reason. You can see the dotted-line jump bridge connections in the image above. Just know that CFC territory has far more of them.
You can read much more about GARPA at TMDC. Apparently it's available for everybody. A Goon gift to you all.
Goonmetrics
Basically, Goonmetrics will tell you the weekly volume, the sell price, and the markup from Jita prices on nearly every item you can sell in a market, for all nine CFC market hubs. As a browser-based tool, it will scan the market window if you're using it via the in-game browser. (It's all EULA-compliant, I want to save the tinfoil-hatters some consternation by mentioning that upfront.)
I'm fascinated by Goonmetrics as a psychological tool. The interesting thing about Goonmetrics is how it encourages people to keep the various market hubs stockpiled with the items people need, without the CFC directorate always asking people to stock those items. As stockpiles in any particular item drops, the markups will usually rise, which then encourages folks wanting to make some extra ISK to bring those items to market. It's really a bit of genius. It plays on the desire to earn ISK to ensure the markets are well stocked. By supplying all of this information easily and readily, it ensures that prices are never too expensive. When markups are high on an item, more of that item is transported to market by more players, which then brings down prices.
You're not going to make Mynnna level ISK using Goonmetrics, that involves far more complex levels of speculation. But for the average CFC grunt, it allows them to earn a respectable living while helping out the CFC effort.
As soon as I feel comfortable jumping my very expensive jump freighter into nullsec, I'll definitely be using this tool to keep my stock of liquid ISK high.
EVEThing
Whereas EVEThing is another slick little web-based tool, I don't think I'll personally be using it. Thus no screenshot. (I can't be bothered to create yet another API key for it.) Basically, though, it's the industry/market side of EVEMon, though with more features. I don't do any industry, so I really have nothing to micromanage.
You can read more about EVEThing at its Github page, along with screenshots. And it's open source, so it's not limited to Goons alone, if you want to offer it up to your own alliance.
Other Tools and Services
If there are other slick tools and services, I do not know about them yet. I'm sure there are some tools only available to Goonswarm Federation. And for those open to the CFC as a whole, I'm sure someone will make mention of them, point them out in the comments.
Bitch about the GSF and the CFC all you want, but they have a pretty impressive array of tools to make playing internet spaceships more enjoyable and lucrative.
