Fweddit - Spending Time With #GLITTERFLEET
This might be my last Fweddit post for awhile. Spent a good chunk of yesterday prepping for the move, and setting up Disco Soliloquy in Fweddit.
Before starting the process of dropping roles, Poetic Stanziel's last act as a recruitment manager was to accept Disco into Fweddit. Sometime tomorrow Poetic will be free of roles.
Then I went through the entire process of getting Disco onto the fweddit.com website, getting all the authorizations for the forums and Mumble and Jabber set-up. Onto eveonline.com to create new API keys. Add Disco to Poetic's personal killboard. Add Disco back onto EVEMon. Then I set about to remove and delete Poetic from most of the same things.
After that, I talked some with Thiren Legion, one of Paxton Industries recruitment managers. Answered their twenty-one item recruitment questionnaire. Then gave over the API keys for Poetic.
A lot of logging back and forth between accounts on fweddit.com, the EVE client and eveonline.com. And sometime tomorrow, maybe having to go through the entire process again for Poetic with Paxton, Gentleman's Agreement, and the CFC. Hopefully they have a better, quicker set-up than that time I was with Littlest Hobos of En Garde and Against ALL Authorities. That was a giant maze of authorizations and registrations. Register and auth for Hobos, then do the same for En Garde, then do the same for triple-A. Three different websites, two different comm apps, and then a couple forums on top of all that. I'm gonna guess that Paxton Industries/Gentleman's Agreement/CFC have a better set-up for all the cross-authing. At least they stick to one comms app, Mumble.
Before joining Fweddit, I downloaded Sarah's Overview and set it up. I quite like it, but it has no settings for faction warfare (plex timers and plex rats don't show up on any of the tabs.) I kinda made do with out them, but will set-up some faction warfare settings soon, using the built-in naming scheme (because it keeps everything nicely organized), and offer it for download to faction warfare people. Maybe Sarah will include the faction warfare options in a future update.
It's a good overview system, but I still recommend people set-up their overview their very first time by hand, to learn how the overview system works. Sarah's still requires some tinkering to adjust tag and colour ordering, and to do that requires familiarity with the overview system. So I still suggest people go through EVE University's Overview Guide to learn the overview first, before using tools such as Sarah offers.
Trying to get into a ship to begin the night was a pain in the ass. I'd like to know what I was thinking six months ago when skilling Disco. 8.9M SP, 4M of that in navigation (all supports to V), another 1.8M in Electronics (all supports to V). How much does Disco have in gunnery? 44K SP. WTF? Spaceships? 900K SP. Poetic had contracted everything in Egghelende to Disco, and the only non-Tech II frigates I had to work with were Imperial Navy Slicers and a Federation Navy Comet.
Could not fly the Slicer, so spent awhile trying to fit out the Comet. Couldn't do it. Fitting skills sucked, and Poetic has mostly Tech II modules stocked (except for things like microwarp drives, afterburners, webifiers, damage controls, etc.) Anyhow, Egghelende doesn't have a lot of Tech I modules for sale in station. In the end, had to resort to getting a couple of free Slashers from the free hangar. (I could have flown a nub Thrasher, since Poetic has always had a bunch on hand, but this evening was going to be about frigates.)
So after all that, I decided to spend some time with Fweddit. #GLITTERFLEET was out doing its thing with Glitterati Tristan daCuhna. It was mainly just plexing, but did get a couple of kills, before Da Bug, flying solo, picked off about six of us. Either we were being dumb, or he was simply pro. Probably a mixture of both.
After returning to Egghelende in the pod, spent some time working on Disco's skill queue. June 4th is coming up quick and need to get Destroyers V, at least. Which I'll do, comfortably. Won't be able to squeeze in Battlecruisers V, though. Battlecruisers IV is the best I'll be able to do, and I don't even really know what that'll mean come the skill reconfiguration. Does Battlecruiser IV mean I get all the new racial battlecruiser skills at level IV? I think that's the case, but I guess I'll have to wait to find out.
I'm gonna spend some more time with Fweddit on Sunday. After that, it's getting into Paxton Industries, which I assume will happen, but I can't count on it 100% until it happens. But if that happens, then it's flying up to their home station, then jumping back and bringing some other clones up nearer to Vale.
I guess since I'll be in null, and it's so much easier to lose pods because of bubbles, I'm going to want a training clone and a clean clone on hand. I have to figure out the rules for having a clone in station, while having that station as my home station. Can I have two clones (empty and training) in a single station, and then jump to a third clone in Jita? I have to figure out how nullsec people deal with this problem (or maybe it's not a problem.)
An interesting couple weeks ahead. Someone from the CFC told me today I'll get a months worth of setting up and getting used to null before the shit hits the fan. He says expect a year of constant war once Odyssey hits. I guess we'll see, but if Odyssey shakes up nullsec that much, then that's definitely a good thing.
