Can't express how excited I am about these pirate noob ships. I can only hope this presages where we're going with the summer expansion. Anyway, I've been asked about the bonuses. Fitting-wise, they're noob ships. Not too exciting, though all of them have seven slots total instead of the noob ship standard six. Normal noob ships have two high, two mid, two low. For the pirate noob ships, all but the Violator have an extra mid; the Violator has an extra low. They have slightly more grid and/or CPU here and there to make use of the extra slot. The bonuses are as follows:
Echo bonuses:
- 50% bonus to Small Projectile Turret damage
- 22.5% bonus to Small Projectile Turret tracking
- 22.5% bonus to Small Projectile Turret falloff
- 22.5% bonus to Small Projectile Turret optimal range
Hematos bonuses:
- 100% bonus to Small Energy Turret damage
- 45% bonus to Energy Vampire and Energy Neutralizer drain amount
- 30% bonus to Small Energy Turret capacitor use
- 30% bonus to the velocity factor of stasis webs
Immolator bonuses:
- 100% bonus to Small Energy Turret damage
- 22.5% bonus to Small Energy Turret tracking
- 30% bonus to Small Energy Turret optimal range
- 22.5% bonus to Shield Boost amount
Taipan bonuses:
- 50% bonus to Light Missile and Rocket velocity
- 15% bonus to shield resistances
- 30% bonus to drone hitpoints, damage and mining yield
- 25% bonus to drone microwarpdrive speed
Violator bonuses:
- 75% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret damage
- 22.5% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret tracking
- 30% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret falloff
- 30% bonus to the velocity factor of stasis webifiers
Don't get too focused on these ships in isolation. What's important about them is what they mean, not what they themselves can do. As I put it earlier today (edited slightly),
This has me very excited! Why would you need pirate noob ships unless you could start play in EVE as a pirate, or later declare yourself to be a member of a pirate faction? This has such awesome potential, I can't even tell you.
I again have to say those Violator bonuses are pretty sweet. Though really, only the Taipan bonuses are bad. The other three are each pretty good in their own rights. So if there's any easy way at all to start stock-piling these ships, there's going to be quite a good business to be had in shipping piles of them to Jita for sale to people like me for theme PvP roams. Can't wait!
